The cafe racer bible is a collection of short stories written by several different authors all based in New York City, which are meant to act as inspiration for those who want to try their hand at car racing. Each one of these stories have been written for a particular type of vehicle, though they are not all dedicated to the same type of vehicle. The main theme of the collection is a love of automobiles, and the author's own experiences with racing them.
One of the most interesting aspects of the Cafe Racer Bible is that it is written as if you were driving yourself. While each of the characters makes it clear who is driving the car, there are many occasions when the person driving the car gets out and shoots at another car or someone on foot. Although the writer makes it clear what the character is thinking, there is still some mystery as to how he/she is feeling, and what they are thinking.
In one story, a man is killed while trying to run down another person in an alley, and the Cafe Racer Bible describes what happened. However, the man's body is so mangled that he cannot be identified. The book says nothing about the incident except for the fact that it was not something he would do again. This is a great example of how people in today's society can act justifiably when they are in danger.
Another story focuses on a teenager who had just learned how to drive and is ready to get behind the wheel of his own car. However, he is worried about the risk of getting in an accident and dying because he was too young. The story mentions that he is still very nervous about whether he would be able to handle the situation, and the writer ends the story by making it clear that it is not easy for a teen to deal with death on a daily basis.
Another story that has received much criticism involves a woman named Sarah who has been a lover of automobiles since she was a child. As a young girl, she would watch the people in the movies drive their cars and imagine what it would be like to one day own one of their own. She would also go to racetracks and race her own car. Unfortunately, her mother died and she was not able to pass her beloved mom's love of cars on to her son. Although she would drive herself later on, she does not like to do it and instead waits for the Cafe Racer Bible to publish her stories.
She is portrayed as a person who will stop at nothing to see her dream come true, but is also a very selfish person who does not care about others or the world around her. Even if it kills her. However, she has a great love for automobiles and her own car and will never accept anything less than perfection from herself.
